Senior Manager, Operations Strategy, Information Security
Airwallex · US - San Francisco
About the role
Works as the strategic and operational partner to Airwallex's CISO and information security leadership, building the planning, reporting and operating mechanisms that help the security and IT organisations set priorities, manage risk and mature. The role manages and coaches a team of technical program managers.
The senior manager runs annual and quarterly planning for INFOSEC and IT, covering roadmaps, prioritisation, resourcing and risk assessment, and leads quarterly business reviews that set out progress, dependencies and the decisions leaders need to make. The role tracks security OKRs, key risk indicators and maturity measures, designs and refines core security workflows such as alert investigations, service requests, incident management and policy updates, and maintains a knowledge base that supports self-service and AI-assisted security work. It also drives large cross-functional security and IT programmes, sets up change management for new policies and tools, builds dashboards and automation, and leads post-incident reviews so lessons turn into lasting process and control improvements.
Airwallex wants eight or more years in strategy and operations, technical program management or security programmes, ideally in fintech, payments or another regulated setting, with experience designing operating rhythms such as OKRs, QBRs and risk reviews and leading program managers. Chief-of-staff experience with a CISO or other technology executive, and familiarity with security, GRC and incident management, are preferred. The role works from the San Francisco office three days a week.
