Staff Product Security Engineer

A staff-level product security engineer on Airwallex's information security team, reporting to the Product Security Engineering Manager and based in San Francisco, Sydney or Melbourne. The engineer builds security controls that let the payments company grow safely, designs security improvements across applications and services, and works with infrastructure and product teams to embed security in what they ship.

The role is also heavily defensive: building detection and response workflows, analysing endpoint, network and cloud telemetry, handling incidents, threat hunting and forensics. It asks for eight years in security engineering or incident response at a tech company, deep knowledge of a major cloud platform and CI/CD, and a strong grasp of attacker techniques; Splunk, Kubernetes and Python or Kotlin help.
