Managing Security Consultant - West (Req #1445)
ePlus · Irvine, California
About the role
Leads ePlus's security advisory and consulting services across an assigned geography, managing a team of security consultants, contractors and partners and working alongside the regional sales team. Candidates on the West Coast are preferred. The job splits between programme consulting, technical work and management, with responsibility for the services' revenue, margin and growth targets.
The consultant leads client engagements as a subject matter expert, assesses how well client environments' defences and controls hold up against industry frameworks, and shapes engagements to each client's security maturity, risk and budget. Deliverables set out deficiencies, business impact and remediation options for both technical and managerial readers. Alongside that, the role refines and develops the practice's offerings, helps sales scope and propose work, presents to customers, and contributes to research, conference talks, webinars and white papers. Team members are mentored and kept on utilisation targets.
The company asks for five to ten years of security consulting experience and relevant certifications, with a bachelor's degree preferred. Deep knowledge of NIST, ISO and PCI frameworks, fluency in threat modelling and attack frameworks, and experience in technical strategy and architecture review are expected. So is comfort with solution selling, account planning and forecasting, writing statements of work, and taking ownership of closing engagements. Extended hours are sometimes needed to match client schedules.
