Team Lead, Data Security - Northeast region (Remote)

Leads client work in GuidePoint Security's newly formed Data Security Consulting Practice in the Northeast, serving as the senior technical and strategic figure on engagements that design and put in place enterprise data protection programs. The role heads a team of consultants and engineers, assigning work and reviewing what they deliver.

The team lead is the primary technical lead on client engagements, assessing each client's current data protection posture and building strategies matched to its business, compliance and transformation goals. That means designing architectures for data discovery, classification, encryption, tokenisation and access control across hybrid and multi-cloud estates, leading assessments and integrations of DLP, DSPM, CASB and insider risk tools, and overseeing deployments and policy configuration. The lead also advises client executives on regulation and emerging technology, mentors the team for consistent quality, and researches new tools and automation to strengthen the practice's methods.

GuidePoint wants eight or more years in information security, three or more of them focused on data protection and three in consulting or technical lead roles, a solid grasp of encryption, key management, tokenisation and masking, and knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, ISO 27001 and NIST. Experience with Proofpoint, Netskope, Cyera, BigID, Varonis or similar tools and with Python or Terraform automation helps. Candidates must live in the Northeast states listed and expect up to 25 percent travel.
