Vectra Detection Engineer

About the role
An engineer in GuidePoint Security's Federal region who deploys, tunes and maintains Vectra AI Detect sensors and Recall pipelines in physical data centres, air-gapped networks and on-premises government environments. The work covers sensor placement with taps, SPANs and packet brokers, routing and VLANs, metadata pipelines, integration with on-premises SIEM, SOAR and EDR, STIG-aligned baselines, and health dashboards that keep detection reliable.
An active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph are required, plus five or more years in on-premises network engineering or security platforms, NDR deployment experience, deep protocol and packet capture knowledge, tools such as Zeek, Suricata or Arkime, and strong Linux skills. DoD 8570 certifications are needed within 30 days. Fully on site in Reston, Virginia or Washington, DC.
