Engineering Manager, EDR
Horizon3.ai · US, Remote
About the role
Leads the EDR remediation team at Horizon3.ai, the group that turns what the NodeZero autonomous pentesting platform proves about a customer's environment into defensive action through endpoint detection and response tooling. The team mixes backend engineers with security practitioners who have deep EDR expertise, and the manager's central job is getting those different skills and working rhythms to reinforce each other.
The manager owns hiring, career development and how the team works as it grows, partnering with a staff-level technical lead who owns the architecture and with Product on roadmap and sequencing. The role helps the team turn EDR workflows into buildable requirements, breaks ambiguous goals into sequenced deliverables, manages scope actively, and sets the operating discipline the work needs: design reviews, release practices, on-call and incident response. It is a technical leadership post for someone who no longer codes day to day but can still evaluate a design, question an estimate and spot a stuck team.
Candidates need enough EDR or security operations knowledge to work well with domain experts, a record of leading technical backend or platform teams in SaaS, security or cloud environments, experience delivering against fixed dates with unclear requirements, and an understanding of security and reliability in multi-tenant SaaS. Experience with LLM-backed systems in production, detection engineering or offensive security, and streaming platforms such as Kafka is preferred. The role is remote in the US.
