Senior Director, Engineering, Precision Defense

Leads the Precision Defense engineering organisation at Horizon3.ai, which turns what the NodeZero autonomous pentesting platform learns about attacks into defensive products. Its work spans deception and tripwires, checking that customers' security controls actually work, and agents for blue teams, which together help customers design their defences, check that they work, and catch attackers who get past the perimeter.

The senior director translates that charter into an engineering strategy, operating model and sequenced roadmap, scales the teams and their leadership, and delivers capabilities across defensive engineering, integrations and AI-enabled workflows. Working with Product and other engineering leaders, the role prioritises across emerging-threat response, offensive engineering, deception, controls validation and agent-driven remediation, manages cross-team dependencies, and keeps the customer experience coherent from understanding exposure through to taking safe remediation steps. Partnering with technical leads on architecture and protecting teams from competing priorities are part of the job.

Horizon3.ai wants significant experience leading SaaS or cloud engineering organisations through managers and technical leads, strong technical judgment in distributed systems or platform engineering, and a record of turning ambiguous goals into sequenced delivery. Experience running AI or agent-based products in production, with a clear view of how to verify and operate them safely, is important. Background in security engineering, detection, controls validation or defensive security products is a plus. The role is fully remote with up to 15% travel.
