Senior Director, Engineering – Proactive Offense

Heads the Proactive Offense engineering organisation at Horizon3.ai, the multi-team group responsible for the offensive capabilities, exploit development and attack automation inside NodeZero, the company's autonomous penetration testing platform. The senior director leads through engineering managers, technical leaders and senior individual contributors and is accountable for how NodeZero finds, exploits and validates vulnerabilities across complex environments.

The role turns the organisation's charter into a technical strategy, operating model and sequenced roadmap, builds the leadership structure as headcount grows, and works with Product and with the Precision Defense and Platform organisations to prioritise across offensive research, exploitation, attack content and automation. A large part of the job is moving capabilities from research and proof of concept into reliable, supportable product features, while keeping quality, delivery speed and responsible product behaviour in balance and making risks and dependencies visible across teams.

Candidates should have significant experience leading and scaling engineering organisations that ship SaaS or security products, including through managers, and strong technical judgment in exploit development, vulnerability research, attack automation or red teaming. The posting also asks for distributed systems and cloud experience, a modern language such as Python, Go, C++ or C#, familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Windows and Linux, and databases such as PostgreSQL or Neo4j. OSCP, OSEP or similar certifications are a bonus. The role is fully remote with up to 10% travel.
