Senior Engineering Manager, Client Platform

Leads Client Platform at Horizon3.ai, the team behind the software that runs inside customer environments to carry out NodeZero's autonomous penetration tests. The senior manager directly manages the engineering managers of two sub-teams, Image Build & Release and OTA Services, and will grow the group to about ten engineers.

Image Build & Release produces, signs and publishes the NodeZero runner container image, and the senior manager is accountable for the integrity of that supply chain, from builds that can be reproduced and signed images to SBOMs and vulnerability checks in the pipeline. OTA Services pushes updates to runners at thousands of customer sites without customers' IT staff having to step in, and the role is responsible for architecting and running that update system. The manager also works with Security Research so new pentest capabilities run cleanly on the runner, acts as product owner for the client-side roadmap alongside product managers and customer success, and sets engineering norms for software that must work in environments the team cannot observe.

Horizon3.ai wants experience leading teams that build containerised software deployed on customer premises, hands-on supply chain practice with tools such as cosign or Notary, OTA delivery at scale with staged rollouts and rollback, Go, Python or C++, strong Linux internals, and knowledge of TLS and secure delivery over hostile networks. Exposure to pentesting tools, air-gapped environments and SLSA is a plus. Fully remote, with up to 5 percent travel.
