Staff Software Engineer, Pentest Experience

A staff backend engineer who sets the technical direction of Horizon3.ai's Assessment Experience team, part of the Proactive Offense organisation behind NodeZero, its autonomous penetration testing platform; the role is remote in the US. The team is reworking how customers set up and run pentests so the product works more like a colleague focused on outcomes. The engineer designs and builds the backend services, APIs, data models and event-driven workflows behind assessments and results, leads cross-team architecture decisions, writes production code, evaluates AI-driven conversational approaches and mentors engineers.

It asks for eight years of software engineering with sustained ownership of production backends, a modern language such as Python, Go, Rust or TypeScript, strong SQL, cloud and container experience, and a record of cross-team technical leadership.
