Manager, Security Operations Center

Huntress  ·  United States of America

About the role

Manages a regional team within the Huntress Security Operations Center, the global group of analysts who investigate and respond to incidents on partners' networks around the clock across millions of endpoints. The manager reports to the Director of the SOC and works with peer regional managers to keep operations consistent worldwide as Huntress tries to make each analyst far more productive.

The role defines and streamlines the processes, workflows and playbooks that drive daily operations and response-time objectives, manages shift coverage for 24/7 service, holds weekly one-to-ones, owns quality assurance for the region, and helps build training in forensics, incident response, malware analysis, detection engineering, threat hunting and automation. It also works with product teams on tooling that amplifies analysts, with support on customer request workflows, and with the tactical response, threat hunting and detection engineering teams. Tracking OKRs, bringing new services into operation and occasional public speaking are part of the job.

Huntress wants five years as an analyst in a global 24x7 SOC with a focus on Windows forensics, three years as a team lead or manager in an operations centre or incident response role, ideally at an MSSP, MDR provider or IR firm, and experience leading teams spanning those disciplines. Process mapping, clear technical communication and a data-driven approach are expected. The role is fully remote in the US.
