About the role
Security Engineer II on Mapbox's Security & Compliance team, a globally distributed group that builds scanning and threat detection for the company's container-based AWS deployment across seven regions, assesses vendor and launch risk, runs a bug bounty programme and automates compliance standards. The engineer carries out deep AWS security reviews and works with production support to fix what they find, reviews application code with developers, helps product teams design secure defaults, maintains in-house security tools with the Lead Security Architect, and joins a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Mapbox wants five or more years in product or application security and software engineering, hands-on AWS security services such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail and IAM, and Python or TypeScript. The role is remote in the US.
