Principal Cloud Security Engineer

Secures every part of Rocket Lab's cloud footprint as Principal Cloud Security Engineer in the IT organisation: vendor services, code pipelines into production and non-production, and the automation behind business-critical operations. The engineer designs controls for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and FaaS environments, builds custom security automation, supports design reviews, assesses risk in cloud, CI/CD and agentic systems, works with infrastructure operations on cloud IAM, brings security into DevOps and MLOps, and gives business partners quantified, statistical views of cyber risk.

Rocket Lab wants twelve or more years with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools, proven cloud security architecture across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, experience under CMMC, NIST and DISA STIG, vulnerability management tooling and data analytics skills. US citizenship is required; the role is on site in Long Beach.
