About the role
Leads cybersecurity for an airborne defence platform in Shield AI's X-BAT division in Seattle, covering avionics, mission systems, aircraft networks, communications, embedded software and ground support. The engineer develops the platform's security architecture and requirements, performs threat modelling and attack-surface analysis, defines protections for secure boot, authentication, encryption, key management and updates, leads DoD RMF work and authorisation evidence, reviews supplier designs, and plans verification and penetration testing.
It requires a relevant engineering degree, five years of related experience on aerospace, defence or mission-critical embedded systems, knowledge of avionics or data links, DoD RMF, NIST guidance and cryptography, and clearance eligibility; DO-326A and anti-tamper experience are preferred.
