AI Security Software Engineer (Starshield)

About the role
An engineer on SpaceX's newly formed AI security team for Starshield, based in Washington, DC, building AI-driven agents and platforms that find and fix vulnerabilities and handle real-time detection, investigation and network defence, while making sure those AI tools are themselves trustworthy and secure.
The engineer builds security-critical agents for network and systems defence, uses AI to uncover and fix weaknesses in Starshield infrastructure, tests AI integrations in Starshield systems, and maintains production systems. Security engineering experience is preferred but not required: SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, and coding in Python, C++ or Go. The role requires obtaining and keeping a Top Secret clearance and working extended hours when needed.
