AI Security Software Engineer (Starshield)

About the role
Builds AI-powered security automation for Starshield as part of a new AI security team at SpaceX, based in Hawthorne. The team's agents and platforms detect and investigate threats, defend networks in real time, and find and fix vulnerabilities, and the tools themselves have to be secure and trustworthy.
The engineer designs agents that automate network and systems defence, applies AI to locate and remediate weaknesses in Starshield infrastructure, tests how AI is integrated into Starshield systems, and looks after production systems. Prior security engineering is a plus rather than a requirement; SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, and Python, C++ or Go. A Top Secret clearance must be obtained and kept, and extended hours are sometimes needed.
