Embedded Security Engineer (Starlink)

Builds security into Starlink's space and terrestrial systems as an engineer on the Starlink Product Security team at SpaceX, based in Hawthorne. The scope runs from the dish and router customers use to gateways and the satellites themselves.

The work includes designing cryptographic and other security-critical services, adding security features to Starlink devices, securing factory processes and the network services they rely on, prototyping and testing improvements, and keeping production systems sound. Skills in applied cryptography, network or OS security, authenticated boot, adversary detection or vulnerability research are valued. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, Python, C++ or Go, and a background securing operating systems or large-scale infrastructure; TPMs and HSMs are a plus. Extended hours may be needed.
