Embedded Security Engineer (Starlink)

A Starlink Product Security engineer at SpaceX in Bastrop, Texas, responsible for making the software across Starlink's satellites, gateways, dishes and routers secure and defensible as the constellation grows.

The engineer creates security infrastructure including cryptographic services, ships security features for Starlink hardware, designs security into factory processes along with supporting network services, prototypes and validates improvements, and strengthens systems already in production. Backgrounds in applied cryptography, network and operating system security, secure boot, incident response or vulnerability research all fit. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, experience in Python, C++ or Go, and work securing operating systems or large distributed systems; hands-on time with TPMs or HSMs helps. Extended hours are sometimes expected.
