Network Security Engineer

A hands-on network security engineer on SpaceX's Security Engineering team, on-site in Memphis, who implements and runs security for the corporate and enterprise networks.

The engineer configures and maintains firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS and other controls, builds network security tools, threat-models and assesses risk in existing configurations, designs secure network solutions for operational needs, patches and maintains security systems, documents processes, and advises other teams on secure architecture. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree and three years of network security experience, or five years without a degree, plus experience securing infrastructure and hardening Windows, macOS or Linux. Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls, NDR, NAC, WAF, SIEM and Python automation are preferred. Remote and hybrid work are not considered.
