New Graduate Engineer, Security Software (Starshield)
SpaceX · Washington, DC
About the role
An entry-level security software engineer on Starshield, SpaceX's government-focused satellite programme built on Starlink technology, based in Washington, DC, for graduates in the class of 2026 or 2027.
The engineer designs and builds security infrastructure such as cryptographic services, develops security features for Starshield routers, dishes, gateways and satellites, builds security into factory processes, prototypes and tests improvements, and strengthens systems already in production. Candidates need a STEM bachelor's degree, programming in Python, C++ or Go, and some experience building security for operating systems or large distributed systems; TPM or HSM work is a plus. A Top Secret clearance must be obtained and kept, and extended hours are sometimes required.
