Product Security Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX  ·  Redmond, WA

About the role

A product security engineer for Starlink at SpaceX in Redmond, part of the Starlink Product Security team, working on the security of software across the constellation's satellites and ground infrastructure and the dishes and routers customers use.

The engineer builds cryptographic and other security-critical services, develops security features for Starlink devices, designs security into factory processes and the network services behind them, prototypes and tests improvements, and keeps production systems secure through direct fixes and advice to other teams. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, Python, C++ or Go, and experience implementing security for operating systems or large infrastructure; applied cryptography, secure boot and TPM or HSM experience help. Extended hours are sometimes required.
