Product Security Engineer (Starlink)

A Starlink Product Security engineer at SpaceX in Hawthorne who helps secure the software that runs Starlink, across the satellites in orbit, the gateways on the ground and the equipment in customers' homes.

The engineer develops security-critical services including cryptography, adds security features to Starlink hardware, secures factory processes and provides the network services they rely on, prototypes and evaluates improvements, and strengthens production systems. SpaceX wants a STEM degree or two years of security software development, programming in Python, C++ or Go, and hands-on experience securing operating systems, distributed systems or large infrastructure. Skills in network or OS security, authenticated boot, incident response, vulnerability research or TPM and HSM hardware are valued. Extended hours are sometimes expected.
