Product Security Engineer (Starshield)
SpaceX · Washington, DC
About the role
A product security engineer for Starshield, the government version of SpaceX's Starlink system, based in Washington, DC, influencing the security of software across Starshield's product lines.
The engineer designs and builds cryptographic and other security-critical services, develops security features for Starshield routers, dishes, gateways and satellites, designs security into factory processes, prototypes and tests improvements, and improves the posture of live systems. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, Python, C++ or Go, and experience securing operating systems or large-scale infrastructure; a broad grasp of internet security design and cryptographic primitives is valued, as is TPM or HSM experience. A Top Secret clearance must be obtained and kept, and extended hours may be needed.
