Security Engineer (Blue Team)

Joins the Blue Team within SpaceX Security Operations in Hawthorne as a security engineer, building detection capability and data delivery so the security operations team can find capable attackers before they disrupt launch and spacecraft operations. The role is fully on-site.

The engineer develops and strengthens the detection logic and automation behind the SOC, closes visibility gaps, keeps internally built tools available, pulls in new data sources or enriches existing ones, prioritises detection gaps with owners of critical systems, investigates anomalies, and takes part in adversary emulation. Applicants need a STEM degree or two years in incident response, security operations or security engineering, plus programming in a language such as Python, Go, C++ or Rust. Incident response work, log ETL pipelines, Kubernetes service management and familiarity with attacker techniques are preferred. Extended hours may be needed.
