Security Engineer (Software)

Writes and runs security software for SpaceX Information Security at Starbase, Texas, in an on-site role that turns the company's security standards into working systems protecting its networks and data.

Responsibilities include identity, authentication and MFA services and network access control, automated identity lifecycle management, infrastructure underpinning network security services, web application firewalls and other application-layer controls, cloud security policy enforcement and monitoring, and documenting and supporting what the engineer operates. Candidates need a STEM degree or two years of security software development, experience in Python, Go, C#, C/C++ or Rust, and a background securing operating systems or distributed systems; PKI, federation protocols, TPMs and HSMs, and code signing are pluses. An Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral is required, and extended hours may be needed.
