Security Engineer

An on-site security engineer at SpaceX's Starbase site in Texas, part of Information Security, responsible for the software and infrastructure behind the company's security controls.

The engineer builds identity, authentication and MFA services and network access control, automates how identities are created and retired, keeps the infrastructure under network security services running, manages web application firewalls and other application-layer defences, enforces cloud security policy and monitoring, and works with security, IT, HR and legal partners to find and reduce risk. SpaceX wants a STEM degree or two years of security software development, experience in Python, Go, C#, C/C++ or Rust, and a record of securing operating systems or distributed systems; PKI, federation protocols, TPMs and HSMs are a plus. An Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral and extended hours are part of the job.
