Security Engineer

A security engineer in SpaceX Information Security, on-site in Hawthorne, who builds and runs the software and infrastructure through which the company's security standards are enforced.

The engineer sets up identity, authentication, MFA and network access control services, automates identity lifecycle work for security and partner teams, operates the backend that network security services rely on, manages web application firewalls and other application controls, enforces cloud security policy, configuration and monitoring, and ships changes that close gaps found with security and IT. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, Python, Go, C#, C/C++ or Rust, and experience securing operating systems or large infrastructure. PKI, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, TPMs and HSMs and OS hardening are preferred. An Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral and extended hours are required.
