Security Software Engineer - Top Secret Clearance

A security software engineer on SpaceX's Special Programs team in Hawthorne who brings security into the development of application and hardware systems for US government work, including ITAR-controlled payloads and technical data.

The engineer builds secure coding practice into the lifecycle through SAST, DAST and threat modelling, prototypes and tests security improvements, maintains and hardens production systems, works with software and hardware engineers on requirements, integration and troubleshooting, reviews software for ITAR-controlled payloads, controls access to sensitive technical data, and writes the design, test and verification documentation government contracts require. SpaceX asks for a STEM degree or two years of security software development, Python, C++ or Rust, and experience securing operating systems or large infrastructure; government contract and ITAR experience are preferred. A Top Secret clearance must be obtained and kept.
