Sr. Embedded Security Engineer (Starlink)

A senior engineer on Starlink's Product Security team who designs and builds security into Starlink hardware and infrastructure, from the router and dish to gateways and satellites. The work includes cryptographic and other security-critical services, protections built into factory processes, prototyping and testing improvements, and hardening production systems directly or through advice to other teams.

SpaceX wants five or more years writing security software (seven without a degree), fluency in a language such as Python, C++ or Go, and experience securing operating systems or large distributed infrastructure. Skills in applied cryptography, secure boot, network security or vulnerability research, and familiarity with TPMs and HSMs, are valued. The role is in Hawthorne and can involve extended hours.
