About the role
A staff backend engineer on Starburst's Identity and Access Management team, building the authentication, authorisation and data governance features of its Trino-based Galaxy and Enterprise platforms from the Boston office. The engineer designs, builds and operates IAM features, works on access control across RBAC, ABAC, data classification and tagging, ships security tools, CI/CD integrations and product security fixes, and reviews peers' code and designs.
It asks for ten years developing distributed systems, deep Java experience and solid design practice; prior work on authentication, authorisation or audit is a big plus. Hybrid, one to two days a week on site, with occasional travel.
