Security Infrastructure Engineer

A software engineer on Tailscale's growing product security team who specialises in security and infrastructure. The engineer designs and builds controls across cloud platforms, operating systems, Kubernetes, networks and CI/CD to resist skilled attackers and insiders, audits Tailscale's infrastructure for weaknesses and sees fixes through, adds security and privacy features and defence-in-depth to the codebase, supports engineering decisions with threat models, and acts as an infrastructure expert during incidents. Between a quarter and half of the time goes on writing software.

Tailscale wants deep AWS and multi-cloud security knowledge, familiarity with container, orchestration and auth security, web and PKI fundamentals, Go or another language plus Terraform or Ansible, and prior work in infrastructure security, security operations or incident response. Remote in the US, working largely asynchronously.
