Security Engineer, Cloud

Joins Vercel's Cloud Security Engineering team to strengthen the safeguards around the company's cloud-native platform, reporting to the Security Operations Manager. The engineer designs controls that scale, hardens infrastructure with code-defined policy and service isolation, makes CI/CD pipelines secure by default, and helps platform teams build security into their architecture. Threat modelling for critical systems, better platform-level detection and incident response, and maintaining security tooling are also part of it. Vercel wants eight or more years in infrastructure or platform security, deep knowledge of AWS or GCP, IAM and hardening, and fluency with Terraform, CDK, Kubernetes and pipeline security. Remote in the US; anyone near the San Francisco or New York offices goes in on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
