Staff Backend Engineer - Device Security

Builds backend systems and tooling for Verkada's device security team, which develops the defensive measures running on the company's cameras and other physical security devices, tests those devices continuously for vulnerabilities and assesses them offensively. The engineer designs, runs and scales services such as automated device security testing infrastructure and systems that protect the firmware supply chain, automates administration of the device security program, and mentors other engineers. Verkada wants eight or more years building Go or Python microservices on AWS with on-call experience, strong fault-tolerant backend design across databases, queues and storage, and depth in systems architecture; experience running IoT fleets and a security background or interest are preferred. Based in San Mateo.
