Staff Software Engineer - Detection and Response Platform

Builds and runs Verkada's security monitoring, detection and response infrastructure as a staff engineer on the Security team. The work covers bringing new systems and services into the SIEM, tuning alerts so they stay meaningful, automating enrichment and incident response workflows, and facilitating incident handling and tabletop exercises, working with the CISO and the wider security team. Mentoring peers on security thinking and speaking or writing externally are encouraged. Verkada wants seven to ten or more years in software, security or reliability engineering or security consulting, scalable systems built on AWS, Go or Python, CI and infrastructure as code, and design of high-throughput ETL pipelines. The role is on-site in San Mateo five days a week.
