Staff Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management Platform

Shapes the architecture and technical strategy of Verkada's in-house access platform, which records who and what (staff, services and machine identities) can reach each company resource. The staff engineer builds highly available backend services for provisioning and access review, deepens integrations with identity providers such as Okta, replaces manual review and approval with automation including AI-assisted risk scoring and anomaly detection, builds self-service and chat-based tools for requesting and auditing access, and keeps controls compliant. Verkada wants five or more years in backend or security platform engineering, experience building identity infrastructure from scratch rather than administering vendor tools, solid grounding in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML or SCIM and access control models, and AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform. Based in San Mateo.
