Senior Manager, IT Ops & Corporate Security

Zip  ·  San Francisco

About the role

Leads IT operations and corporate security at Zip as a player-coach based in San Francisco, with a team spread across San Francisco, New York and Toronto. About a third of the role is hands-on work on urgent issues, configuration and incidents. The security remit covers employee identities, endpoints, SaaS applications and office networks, while product security sits with other teams.

The senior manager runs daily IT support, queues, escalations and an after-hours on-call rotation, owns the employee technology lifecycle from onboarding to deprovisioning, and administers Google Workspace, Okta, Iru, Zoom and the IT service management platform. On security, the role oversees device patching and compliance, SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning and access reviews, directs the senior security engineer and a managed monitoring provider, drives vulnerabilities and misconfigurations to remediation, acts as incident commander for corporate security incidents, and supports SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audits, awareness and customer security reviews. It also covers office networking and conference-room AV, AI agents that handle routine IT requests, access and logging standards for AI tools and agents, and hiring, budgets, vendors and service metrics.

Zip wants eight years in IT operations or infrastructure with three managing IT teams, strong Okta and Google Workspace experience, device management across macOS and Windows, experience securing a corporate environment and leading incident response with an MDR provider, and a record of changing how an IT team works using AI tools and automation. Occasional travel to New York and Toronto is expected.
