About the role
Leads the software development team behind the Zscaler Client Connector Portal service, within the Zero Trust Exchange department and under the Sr. Director, Software Engineering. The team works closely with peer product and operations groups, and the role involves regular contact with Zscaler's executive team as the service scales quickly.
The manager stays deeply involved in architecture and design, partners with product management on defining and delivering the roadmap, and oversees cloud operations, including upgrades, scalability work and troubleshooting. Two changes run through the job: moving the team to a full service ownership model, and adopting an AI Development Lifecycle across its software delivery.
The company wants seven or more years building and leading software teams on enterprise applications with the Java stack, five or more in cloud-based deployment and operations, and at least three with hyperscalers such as AWS. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field is required, with strong knowledge of Java, SSL and MySQL and hands-on skill in Java, Python and shell scripting. Kubernetes and microservices knowledge and current experience with the AI Development Lifecycle would stand out, and US citizenship is a plus. The role is based in Santa Clara.
